On Wednesday, billionaire Mukesh Ambani announced that his company, Reliance, is set to establish India’s inaugural world-class carbon fibre facility at Hazira. Speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, Ambani emphasized that Reliance, rooted in Gujarat, has been, is, and will always be a Gujarati company.

Highlighting Reliance’s significant investments, Ambani stated, “Over the past decade, Reliance has infused over USD 150 billion (12 lakh crore) to develop state-of-the-art assets and capacities throughout India. Remarkably, more than one-third of this investment has been channeled into Gujarat alone.”

Ambani expressed Reliance’s commitment to propel Gujarat to global leadership in green growth, affirming, “We will actively contribute to Gujarat’s ambition to fulfill half of its energy requirements through renewables by 2030.” The ambitious Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex, spanning 5,000 acres in Jamnagar, is underway, poised to generate green jobs and facilitate the production of eco-friendly products and materials, positioning Gujarat as a premier exporter in this sector. Anticipating a rollout in the latter half of 2024, Ambani shared this groundbreaking initiative.

Underlining Reliance Jio’s achievement, Ambani noted the completion of the world’s swiftest roll-out of 5G infrastructure. In support of India’s bid for the 2036 Olympics, Reliance and Reliance Foundation will collaborate with various partners in Gujarat to enhance education, sports, and skills infrastructure, fostering the development of future Olympic champions.

Ambani expressed unwavering confidence in India’s economic trajectory, asserting, “No force on earth can hinder India’s journey to becoming a 35 trillion-dollar economy by 2047. Gujarat, in isolation, is poised to evolve into a 3-trillion dollar economy by that time.
