China has placed 65 million people under strict COVID-19 restrictions. They also discourage domestic travel during national holidays. The majority of the 21,000,000 people living in Chengdu’s southwestern city are restricted to their homes or apartments. Classes in Tianjin’s eastern port city have been moved online following 14 cases of new cases. All but two of these cases showed no symptoms. China reported 1,552 new cases Monday in the nation of 1.4 million people. China reported 1,552 new cases Monday in the nation with 1.4 billion inhabitants.

The National Health Commission in China reported that there were 1,552 new cases Monday across its nation of 1.4 million people. Authorities have maintained a “zero COVID” policy, which requires lockdowns, quarantines, and confinement of anyone suspected of having been in close contact with any confirmed cases, despite the low incidence of infections. China’s Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on Sept 10-12, is the country’s second most important holiday after the Lunar New Year.

Although the anti-virus measures have had a significant impact on society, travel, and the economy, China’s ruling Communist Party claims they are necessary to stop a wider spread. The virus was first discovered in Wuhan, China, in late 2019. People’s ability to travel, socialize, and work has been severely affected by the fear of being locked down or quarantined for being within close proximity to someone who tested positive. The start of the new school year in Chengdu was delayed, and many residents were kept in their homes.

According to state media reports, 33 cities have restricted residents from their homes or compound.

Since then, tens of thousands of people have been locked down in China. Sometimes, these lockdowns prevent residents from accessing basic necessities, food, and health care. Shanghai, China’s biggest city and financial center, was closed for more than five weeks. This caused protests and forced a mass exodus of residents.
